We first performed (fleetingly) In St. Louis when Laura Lee joined us onstage to sing "Amen" with the Ladies of Southern Soul finale featuring Bettye LaVette, Sugar Pie De Santo, Mabel John and, of course, Laura Lee.

One On One Records' Colin Dilnot suggested pairing the Butanes with Laura Lee to long-time Blues Estafette producer Jaap Hindriks.

After two songs reflecting Laura's up-beat philosophy (Friendship Train and Love Train) the band got down to her old recordings:
I Need To Belong, Hang It Up, Rip Off, Dirty Man, Crumbs Off The Table, That's How it Is and That's How Strong My Love Is. Love MoreThan Pride was available as well but first Laura had to thank Him for her miraculous recovery and performed How I Love You and Amazing Grace.
Soul fans will be disappointed if Laura Lee never sings these songs with the Butanes again.
